Spiritual Direction begins with one that is a trained guide who then
"companions" another by listening with an ear for the movement of the Divine.
A spiritual director simply assists the seeker in uncovering and discovering the
direction of Spirit in one’s life. Enabling one to see, hear, claim, receive, own, and
reverence the voice of inner self in such a way that it elicits a naturally genuine
response.
Spiritual direction, unlike pastoral counseling, always happens in the context of
prayer and spiritual intimacy. In spiritual direction discernment is based upon
the intimate engagement of two people walking in the sanctuary of God.
I received spiritual direction for several years and was deeply fortified by the
essence of an attitude of heart that still sustains me. My experience was so
enriching that I went on to study spiritual direction and offer it to those on the
path.
Each session is fee based, all fees are donated to, "Make A Wish Foundation".
